A day out on the Camel Trail from Tehidy Holiday Park
Cycling this wonderful trail is easy and makes a great way to explore the countryside here. The Camel trail is off road, well maintained and flat and runs from Padstow to Wadebridge at it’s mid point then up to Bodmin.
Is it easy to do?
Yes, the trail has bike hire at Padstow, Wadebridge and Bodmin, so you can choose how much you do easily.
Do I need to take food and drink?
I’d suggest drink is important but there are cafes and shops along the way in each town.
What’s it like?
The trail is really in 2 parts, both lovely but different.
Padstow to Wadebridge follows open estuary and has great views. Exploring either town is easy with direct access to the heart of each town.
Wadebridge to Bodmin runs along the River Camel and is in a more wooded valley setting with the wonderful Bodmin to Wenford steam railway by the track for part of the way.
Is it easy to get to?
Yes. Tehidy Holiday Park is perfectly located in Cornwall to allow easy access to Wadebridge, Padstow or Bodmin. We generally head to Wadebridge and start from there. It’s just over 35 minutes away and has easy parking, shops for supplies and bike hire if needed.

The Camel trail is a wonderful cycle route and perfect for exploring off road
